the meaning of life is to love and be loved, not necessarily romantically or simultaneously

though romantically and simultaneously is particularly lovely

I believe in the power of metaphor. I believe that belief is a power we can aim. I believe in God. I think God is love and metaphor and magic and anything else we have words for and what we cannot describe in words.

I believe in kindness. Community. I believe that play is a spiritual practice. I felt God in my college improv group.

Bad improv is a moral failing because the artform is fundamentally about denying the ego and loving your neighbor.

I believe in contradiction, paradox, and camp. I think I understand camp, but if I don't, that's actually more camp than anything.

pine trees and street lamps remind me of myself, my home, my family.

I love memory. I get deeply caught up in nostalgia sometimes. I know the color, feeling, taste, sound, and smell of every era I've lived, and I am meticulous about the preservation and creation of memories. I have a hard time throwing things away.

the first CD's I ever bought were Ocean Eyes by Owl City and the Lemonade Mouth soundtrack. I don't remember the order -- I think Owl City was first. "Fireflies" was my favorite song from approximately ages 0-12.
